InsuLevel: the doctor never gave the promotional interview — SID statement

Italy’s diabetes society debunked a fabricated interview used to promote InsuLevel. What the statement proves, and what it does not.

The Italian Society of Diabetology (SID) officially rebutted a promotional “interview” used to advertise InsuLevel. In its statement dated 29 August 2025, SID said Professor Stefano Del Prato and presenter Michele Mirabella never made the quoted statements and did not endorse the product. SID called the material entirely false, misleading, and created for commercial purposes. [1]

What SID confirmed

SID condemned the advertising use of specialists’ names and images. It also said products promoted by those messages lacked scientific validation and were not approved by regulatory authorities. That is SID’s statement about the advertising; Trustfit has not tested a package in a laboratory. [1]

What the rebuttal does not prove

A fabricated medical endorsement is a strong reason to reject that ad, but it does not establish that every product sold as InsuLevel is effective or ineffective. SID’s statement gives no price, sales-call script, or course terms, so we cannot claim callers impose a more expensive bundle.

Trustfit’s conclusion

Do not buy InsuLevel on the strength of this “interview” or attributed medical endorsement: SID confirms it never happened. This review does not establish the effectiveness of a particular package or formula. Ask for the full label, ingredient doses, and independent evidence on the finished product.

Do not stop or change prescribed diabetes medicines because of an online ad or sales call. NIDDK advises taking medicines as prescribed and discussing changes with your health care team. [2]

What to check before paying

  • the original endorsement from the doctor or their professional organization;
  • a clear photo of the full label, ingredients, and doses;
  • independent research on the finished product, not just its ingredients;
  • the written total price, seller’s legal identity, and return terms.

We compared the promotional claim with SID’s official statement and NIDDK guidance. We did not buy or test the product. The false endorsement is established; a treatment effect or lack of effect is not. This review concerns the Italian campaign; this translation does not establish availability elsewhere.
